Meet The Instructor
Hello I’m Curtis Van Liew, the owner and instructor of Eagle Defensive Solutions, I have been in the private security field for over 29 yrs, I am not a Law Enforcement officer. I do however have first hand experience of being attacked in a situation as well as many other experiences that can bring real life experiences to the table to help prepare you for defending yourself in a dangerous situation. I am very passionate about the privilege and responsibilities of protecting yourself and your family. We teach in a very straight forward method to be able to communicate the importance of a Concealed Handgun License.
Some of the Certifications I hold are:
– TX Department of Public Safety Certified – License To Carry Instructor
– NRA Certified Range Safety Officer
– NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor
We believe everyone has the right to be able to protect themselves and their family within the bounds of the law.
We believe in the Constitutional Rights granted us by our fore fathers, not to be abused but respected.
Our main goal is to help our students not become a victim of a violent crime. The best way to do this is through knowledge and training.
We believe every person must be prepared and able to protect themselves if and when the need arises. Let us be very candid the Police can not protect you at the very best they can only respond when you call to try and catch the perpetrators.
We have spent many years in the private Security industry and therefore are able to better understand and convey the proper training and knowledge to allow you to be able to protect you and your family.
We’re not gun freaks but we do definitely believe in being prepared to defend ourselves at any time should the need arise.
We have developed several training methods that allow you to be better prepared to defend yourself beyond the Concealed Handgun License class, which covers the very basics but does little to really prepare you for being able to defend yourself in a life threatening situation. In fact most of the training necessary can not even be practiced on a gun range, we have specifically developed our training to be able to be practiced in your own home or garage, of course with an unloaded firearm.
We teach with great emphasis on being prepared and aware of your surroundings at all times, called Situational Awareness, which can even be relayed and taught to your children to help protect them as well.
